2. Initial Full Charge- Before first use, fully charge each battery for approximately 90 minutes with a compatible DeWalt 20V MAX charger. This initial charge optimizes the capacity and lifespan of your PowerPack lithium-ion batteries.
3. Functionality Test- Insert the battery into a compatible 20V MAX tool until you hear the locking click. Press the LED indicator button to check the charge level and confirm that all three lights illuminate, indicating a full charge.
4. Familiarization with the Indicator- Learn to read the 3-level LED indicator: three lights on indicate full charge, two lights represent about 66% charge, one light signals about 33% and flashing indicates the need for immediate recharging.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Storage Tips

Store your PowerPack batteries in a cool, dry place, ideally at room temperature between 15°C and 25°C, away from direct sunlight and excessive humidity which could cause corrosion on the electrical contacts.

For extended storage of more than one month, keep batteries at a charge level of approximately 40 to 60% rather than fully charged or completely discharged. Storing them fully charged or completely discharged can reduce their overall lifespan and maximum capacity.

Use the original manufacturer's packaging or a protective case to avoid accidental contact of the electrical terminals with metallic objects such as keys, coins, or tools that could cause a dangerous short circuit.

Check and recharge the batteries at least every 3 months, even if they are not in use, as lithium-ion batteries undergo a natural self-discharge of approximately 1 to 2% per month. This practice maintains their electrochemical health and ensures they are ready for immediate use.
