First Use

Before using your ladder for the first time, perform a complete inspection and familiarize yourself with the deployment procedure.

1. Initial inspection: check the integrity of both sections, cast iron locks, feet, and rope system. Ensure no components are damaged.
2. Deploying the sections: lay the ladder flat on the ground. Pull the fly section using the rope in a controlled manner. The cast iron locks must click firmly into place at the desired rung.
3. Angle of use: position the ladder at a 75-degree angle (4:1 rule: for every 4 ft of height, the base must be 1 ft from the wall). Use the pivoting feet to adapt to the ground surface.
4. Stability check: before climbing, test stability by applying pressure with both hands. Ensure both feet are in full contact with the ground.

Regular Maintenance

Regular maintenance extends the life of your ladder and ensures long-term safety.

After each use:

• Retract the sections and verify the locks function properly.
• Wipe down sections and rungs if exposed to moisture, mud, or job site debris.
• Visually inspect the locks, feet, and rope system.
• Report any anomaly immediately before returning the ladder to service.

Recommended monthly inspection:

• Check the cast iron locks: they must engage and release without forcing.
• Inspect the rope and pulley for fraying or wear.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Cleaning rails and rungs:

1. Use a damp cloth and mild (neutral) soap. Avoid harsh solvents that can attack the fiberglass resin.
2. Rinse with clean water and allow to dry before storage.
3. For heavily soiled serrated rungs, use a soft-bristle brush and soapy water.
4. Lightly lubricate the cast iron locks with a dry lubricant (silicone) once per season.

• Do not exceed 300 lbs (136 kg): includes the user's weight plus tools and equipment.
• Never move a deployed ladder: always climb down before repositioning.
• Avoid icy or unstable surfaces: use spur plates or anti-slip foot attachments in winter conditions.
• Maintain minimum overlap between sections: at least 3 rungs of overlap when deployed.
• Never use in strong winds: a 40-foot ladder is particularly susceptible to wind gusts at height.

Storage Recommendations

Short-term storage:

• Store horizontally on dedicated wall brackets or hooks.
• Avoid placing the ladder directly on damp concrete floors.
• Keep the ladder retracted to prevent section deformation.

Winter storage in Canada:

• Fiberglass handles cold temperatures well. Store in a dry, sheltered location.
• Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles on rubber feet.
• Before returning to service in spring, perform a complete inspection of locks, rope, feet, and rails.

What Is Covered

The manufacturer warranty covers defects in workmanship under normal conditions of use:

Warranty Exclusions

The warranty does NOT cover:

• Normal wear: degradation of feet, end caps, and rung coatings through regular use.
