This kit is ready to use. It includes the tool, two batteries and the charger, so you can start trimming as soon as it arrives.

Included in your order:

• 1x DCST922 folding string trimmer: 14 in cutting swath, variable speed trigger and Hi/Lo switch.
• 2x DCB205 20V MAX 5 Ah battery: lithium-ion batteries supplied with the kit.
• 1x Charger: to recharge the 20V MAX batteries.
• 1x Handle: supplied in the box.

Benefits of the DeWalt 20V MAX string trimmer kit

• Ready to use: the batteries and charger are included. You have nothing else to buy to get started.
• Two batteries: one battery can charge while the other is working.
• Compact storage: the folding hinge makes the tool 40% shorter than when fully extended. It fits in a shed or a car trunk.
• Fast line change: the QuickLoad spool makes replacing the 0.080 in line easy.

Recommended complementary accessories

Complete your setup with these catalog products, sold separately:

• DeWalt 20V MAX 5 Ah battery (DCB205): a spare battery to work longer.
• Trimmer line 0.080 in x 225 ft: the right line diameter for this QuickLoad spool.
• DeWalt 20V/60V MAX fast charger (DCB118): an extra charger to recharge faster.
• DeWalt 20V MAX pole hedge trimmer (DCPH820B, tool only): one more tool for yard care, on the 20V MAX platform.

First use

Before the first cut, follow these steps:

1. Charge the batteries. Insert a DCB205 battery into the charger and let it recharge fully.
2. Attach the handle. Follow the manufacturer's manual to install it in the right position.
3. Unfold and lock the hinge. Make sure it is firmly locked before starting.
4. Check the line. The QuickLoad spool uses 0.080 in line. Adjust the line length before you start.

Regular maintenance

Simple upkeep extends the life of the tool and its batteries.

After each use:

• Remove the battery before any cleaning.
• Clear grass and debris from around the cutting head.
• Wipe the tool with a dry cloth.

Line management:

• Replace worn or broken line with 0.080 in line.
• Keep a spare spool of line within reach.
• Remove the battery before changing the line.

Safety precautions

For your safety (also see the manufacturer's manual):

• Wear safety glasses. The line can throw stones and debris.
• Keep children and pets away. They could be hit by flying debris.
• Avoid rain and very wet grass. Moisture can damage the tool and the batteries.
• Do not touch the cutting head while it is running. Wait for it to stop completely before cleaning it.

Storage tips

Short-term storage:

• Fold the tool at the hinge to save space.
• Store it away from moisture, with the batteries removed.

Winter storage in Canada:

• Clean the tool before putting it away for the season.
• Keep the batteries indoors in a dry place rather than in an unheated shed.
• Store the tool away from heat sources and moisture.
