First use

Before the first cut, follow these steps:

1. Charge the battery. Insert the DCB205 battery into the charger and let it recharge fully.
2. Attach the handle and the guard. Follow the manufacturer's manual to install them in the right position.
3. Unfold and lock the hinge. Make sure it is firmly locked before starting.
4. Check the line. The QuickLoad spool uses 0.080 in line. Adjust the line length before you start.

Regular maintenance

Simple upkeep extends the life of the tool and its battery.

After each use:

• Remove the battery before any cleaning.
• Clear grass and debris from around the cutting head and the guard.
• Wipe the tool with a dry cloth.

Line management:

• Replace worn or broken line with 0.080 in line.
• Keep a spare spool of line within reach.
