Choose a hose clamp with a diameter larger than the outside diameter (OD) of the pipe on which the hose clamp will be used.
One ear must first be fully tightened. Tightening the second ear opens the first ear slightly. This creates a spring action that protects against vibration, pressure, and shrinkage of the air hoses caused by temperature fluctuations or wear.
