First Use

Activating your new DeWalt batteries:

2. LED indicator check- Press the test button to confirm that all 3 lights are illuminated correctly. 3 lights indicate a full charge, 2 lights approximately 66 percent, and 1 light approximately 33 percent. Rapid flashing indicates a battery that is too hot or too cold.
3. Test on a compatible tool- Install the battery onto a DeWalt 20V MAX tool by aligning the guide rails and pushing firmly until it clicks. Perform a few light operations to verify proper operation. The battery should lock securely without any play.
4. Identification and labeling- To facilitate rotation, identify each battery with a permanent marker on the base. Note the commissioning date to track history and plan future replacements.

Regular Maintenance

To maximize the lifespan of your DeWalt batteries:

4. Joint inspection- Check the integrity of the seal around the cover. Replace the battery if the seal is cracked, as moisture can penetrate and cause a short circuit.

Precautions for Use

• Never remove the batteryOpening the casing exposes the cells to hazardous lithium-ion cells and voids the warranty. Pressurized cells can cause chemical burns if punctured.

What Is Covered

The DeWalt and Polar Industrial Equipment limited warranty covers:

Manufacturing defects- Any anomaly resulting from the manufacturing process, including defective soldering, incorrect assembly of lithium-ion cells, or failure of internal electronic circuits. DeWalt will repair or replace batteries with these defects free of charge during the warranty period.

Material defects- Defective lithium-ion cells causing premature capacity loss, plastic casing cracking without external impact, faulty charging contacts, or non-functional LED indicators upon receipt. Also covers loose internal connectors and manufacturing sealing issues.

Abnormal performance- Batteries losing more than 50 percent of their nominal capacity during the first year of normal use, inability to hold a charge, excessive overheating during standard operation, or rapid self-discharge without use. These symptoms indicate a covered defect if used correctly.

DeWalt Workforce- All diagnostic, repair, and replacement costs are covered by DeWalt during the warranty period. There are no hidden fees for evaluation or return shipping to the customer after repair.

Warranty Exclusions
