First Use

Follow these steps before your first drilling job to ensure safe and optimal operation.

1. Inspect the surface: check that the anchoring surface is clean, flat and free of thick paint or rust for optimal magnetic adhesion.
2. Attach the safety strap: always attach the supplied strap before any vertical or overhead drilling.
3. Fill the coolant reservoir: pour cutting fluid into the reservoir to cool the bit and extend its life.
4. Install the correct cutter: choose a compatible diameter, up to 32mm, and insert it into the 3/4in Weldon shank.

Regular Maintenance

Simple care after every use preserves your magnetic drill's performance over the long term.

After each use:

• Remove chips built up on the base and cutter.
• Wipe off excess coolant from the tool and work surface.
• Check the cutter's condition and replace it if dull.

Coolant management:

• Check the level before each use.
• Replace used coolant regularly.
• Never drill dry, as this can damage the cutter and motor.

Cleaning and Maintenance

1. Motor brushes: have brush wear checked by an authorized FEIN service center after several hundred hours of use.
