First Use

Activating your new Milwaukee FORGE battery:

1. Initial inspection- Visually inspect the battery for any transport damage. Examine the electrical contacts and ensure they are clean and free of debris.
2. Full charge recommended- Before first use, fully charge the battery for 80 to 120 minutes with a Milwaukee M18 charger. The LED indicator will display 4 illuminated segments when fully charged.
3. Conditioning cycle- To optimize performance, perform 3 to 5 complete charge/discharge cycles during the first week of use. This calibrates the integrated management system and maximizes capacity.
4. Compatibility test- Install the battery on your M18 tools to check for a secure connection. You should hear a distinct click when correctly installed.

Regular Maintenance

To maximize the lifespan of your Milwaukee FORGE battery:

After each use:

• Remove the battery from the tool to prevent unwanted discharge.

Load management:

Precautions for Use

What Is Covered

The Milwaukee limited warranty covers:

Manufacturing defects- Defects resulting from the manufacturing process, including faulty welds, incorrect assembly, or improperly installed components. Milwaukee will repair or replace them free of charge.

Material defects- Defective lithium-ion cells, cracked casing without external impact, prematurely corroded electrical contacts or faulty protection circuits. Full parts and labor coverage.

Abnormal performance- Capacity loss greater than 30% during the first year, non-functional LED indicator, defective thermal protection system or excessive discharge in standby mode.

What Milwaukee will do:

• Complete inspection by a certified technician
• Repair with genuine Milwaukee parts if repairable
• Replacement with a new or refurbished unit if irreparable

Warranty Exclusions

The warranty does NOT cover:

Normal wear and tear- Gradual reduction in capacity (less than 30% per year), discoloration of the casing, superficial scratches or wear of the contacts after prolonged use. Lithium-ion batteries naturally lose 5 to 8% of their capacity annually.

Physical damage- Impact cracks, crushed casing, bent or broken contacts, drop damage, or battery exposed to excessive charge. Any visible external damage voids the warranty.

Misuse- Use with non-Milwaukee chargers, attempted charging with modified equipment, repeated intentional full discharge, or use outside voltage specifications. Disassembly or modification immediately voids the warranty.

Extreme conditions- Exposure to temperatures below -20°C or above 75°C, immersion in water or liquids, storage in an environment of excessive humidity (more than 80%) or exposure to corrosive chemicals.

Neglect- Battery left discharged for more than 6 months, unattended storage at charge level, lack of basic maintenance or excessive professional use without proper rotation.

Normal trade- Batteries purchased used, unofficially refurbished, or parallel imports. Warranty valid only for purchases from authorized Milwaukee Canada retailers.
