First Use

Preparing your DCF961B impact wrench:

1. Charge the Battery
   
   Fully charge a compatible DeWalt 20V MAX battery before first use.
2. Install the Socket
   
   Insert the socket onto the 1/2 in hog ring anvil until it clicks into place.
3. Choose the Speed
   
   Select one of the 4 speed settings based on the fastener, or Precision Wrench mode for greater control.
4. No-load Test
   
   Trigger the tool with no load to get familiar with its response before real use.

Regular Maintenance

To maximize the lifespan of your impact wrench:

After each use:

• Remove the socket and wipe down the tool to clear dust and debris
• Check that the motor's ventilation slots are not blocked
• Remove the battery if the tool won't be used for an extended period

Battery:

• Recharge the battery before it's fully drained to extend its lifespan
• Keep battery contacts clean and dry

Cleaning and Maintenance

Periodic maintenance:

1. Anvil and Sockets
   
   Inspect the hog ring anvil for wear or excessive play, which can affect fastening accuracy.
2. Housing and Handle
   
   Clean with a slightly damp cloth, never with water directly on the tool.
3. Motor Ventilation
   
   Use compressed air to clear dust buildup from the ventilation slots, essential on a brushless motor.

Recommended products: dry cloth, compressed air.

Avoid: water, solvents, or submerging the tool.
