Starrett 234 end measuring rods, or "standards," are used to check and adjust micrometers 5 cm and longer. They are also used on machine tools for comparing gauges, checking precision measuring tools, measuring parallel surfaces, and performing many other tasks. They are made of special tool steel, in rod form, with hardened and precision-honed ends to a spherical radius. 7.6 cm with a rubber grip.
