What is included with the DeWalt DCS380B reciprocating saw

The DeWalt DCS380B reciprocating saw is sold as a bare tool. The battery, charger and blade are not included.

First use of your DCS380B reciprocating saw

Before the first cut, make sure the tool is ready.

1. Install the blade: remove the battery, then insert the blade into the 4-position blade clamp. It locks in without tools and must be firmly held.
2. Adjust the shoe: set the rotating shoe to the cutting depth you want. Press it firmly against the workpiece before cutting.
3. Insert the battery: install a charged DeWalt 20V MAX battery, sold separately. Make sure it is locked in place.
4. Do a test cut: start the cut at low speed with the variable speed trigger. Increase the pace gradually.

Regular maintenance

Simple upkeep keeps the saw efficient from one jobsite to the next.

After each use:

• Remove the battery before handling the tool.
• Let the blade cool before touching it.
• Clear dust and chips with a brush or dry air.

Blade care:

• Replace a dull or damaged blade, it strains the motor.
