First Use

1. Initial Inspection - Unpack the DCN45RNB nailer and visually inspect it to make sure no damage occurred during shipping. Check that the magazine is empty before any handling.
2. Installing the Battery - Insert a charged DeWalt 20V MAX battery (sold separately) until you hear it click into place. Check the charge level using the battery's indicator.
3. Loading the Magazine - Load the coil of spiral nails, 3/4 in. to 1-3/4 in., according to the thickness of the shingle being installed, following the insertion direction marked on the magazine.
4. Function Test - Test the tool in sequential mode on a scrap piece of wood before using it on the job site, to confirm the safety contact tip and depth adjustment are working correctly.

• Inspect the magazine for obstructions or damage and make sure the nail feed mechanism moves freely
