First Use

Activating your new electric stapler/nailer:

1. Visual Inspection and Verification

Remove the tool from the packaging and visually inspect it for any shipping damage. Check that the power cord is intact and that all safety mechanisms are functioning correctly before first use.

2. Reading the Manual and Safety Instructions

Read the DeWalt user guide carefully, paying particular attention to the safety and fastener compatibility sections. Familiarize yourself with the five accepted fastener types and their respective maximum lengths.

3. Loading and Testing the Attachments

Open the quick-release magazine and insert the appropriate staples or nails for your application. Perform 3 to 5 test shots on a scrap piece of wood to adjust the driving depth and familiarize yourself with the trigger.

4. Power Settings According to Material

Test the high/low power switch on your work material. Low position for softwoods and delicate finishes, high position for hardwoods and dense materials like plywood or MDF.

Regular Maintenance

To maximize the lifespan of your DeWalt professional stapler:

After each use:

• Unplug the tool and empty the magazine of any remaining attachments to prevent corrosion and blockages.
• Blow away dust and debris from the mechanism with low-pressure compressed air
• Wipe the outer casing with a dry cloth to remove sawdust and residue.

Charger Disassembly and Cleaning

Nose and Piston Cleaning

Precautions for Use

• Never point the tool at yourself or others- The striking force can cause serious injury even through work gloves. Always point your nose towards the work surface only.
• Avoid non-recommended materialsNever use on metal, concrete, stone, or materials harder than hardwood. This tool is designed exclusively for wood, wood-based panels, and similar materials. Use on unsuitable surfaces will void the warranty.
• Keep the work area clear- Keep your hands and body at least 15 cm away from the point of impact. Always wear safety glasses, even for quick tests. Fasteners can ricochet off wood knots or dense areas.
• Disconnect before maintenance or unlocking.- Always disconnect the power supply before accessing the internal mechanism, releasing a jammed fastener, or making any adjustments. Accidental activation can cause serious injury.
• Respect the temperature limits- Recommended use between 0°C and 40°C. Below 0°C, the tool may become brittle. Above 40°C, there is a risk of motor overheating during intensive use.

Storage Tips

Short-term storage (less than 7 days):

• Store in a dry place at room temperature
• Keep the tool in its case or hanging on the wall out of reach of children
• Wrap the cord loosely to avoid internal damage to the wires.

Long-term storage (more than 7 days or seasonal):

• Completely remove all attachments from the magazine to prevent prolonged spring compression.
• Generously lubricate the striking mechanism and nose with protective oil
• Store in a rigid case or airtight box with a desiccant packet to prevent moisture buildup.
• Store in a dry place with a stable temperature between 10°C and 25°C
• Avoid damp cellars, unheated garages in winter or overheated attics in summer

Winter storage in Quebec:

• If storing in an unheated garage, place the tool in a sealed plastic bag with desiccant.
• Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles that cause internal condensation and corrosion
• Before first use in spring, allow the tool to reach room temperature for 2 hours.

Manufacturing Defects

Any manufacturing defect affecting the normal operation of the tool, including assembly defects, faulty welds, or poorly machined components, will be repaired or replaced free of charge by DeWalt during the 3-year warranty period.

Material Defects

Inferior quality materials or components not meeting DeWalt specifications. Brittle metal covers, poor quality plastics, defective motors or faulty electrical circuits present from the manufacturing stage.

Abnormal Performance Without Obvious Cause

If the tool does not perform according to its technical specifications without any apparent reason for wear or misuse. Includes unexplained power loss, frequent jamming despite proper maintenance, or faulty mechanisms.

Repair Labor

DeWalt covers labor costs for all warranty repairs performed by an authorized service center. No diagnostic or repair charges for the first 3 years for covered defects.

What DeWalt will do:

• Complete repair free of charge at an authorized service center
• Replacement of the tool with a new or equivalent refurbished unit

Warranty Exclusions

The warranty does NOT cover:

• Normal wear and tear of components- Gradual deterioration of the striking mechanism, piston wear, cosmetic scratches on the casing, or normal weakening of the spring after prolonged use. These items are considered consumables.
• Damage caused by misuse- Use on unsuitable materials such as metal or concrete, excessive commercial use of a residential tool, or any application not in accordance with the DeWalt user manual.
• Neglect or lack of maintenance- Lack of regular lubrication, accumulation of uncleaned debris, storage in humid conditions causing corrosion or failure to empty the loader during prolonged storage.
• Physical injuries or accidents- Falls, impacts, crushing by vehicle, immersion in water or any damage resulting from an accident or rough handling of the tool.
• Unauthorized modifications- Any alteration, repair by unauthorized DeWalt personnel, installation of non-original parts or modification of the voltage or electrical specifications of the tool.
• Extreme operating conditions- Use below -10°C or above 50°C, prolonged exposure to high humidity above 85% or use in corrosive or explosive environments.
