First Use

Preparing your Metaflux 70-03 spray:

1. Initial verification- Inspect the aerosol can to ensure it has not been damaged during transport. Check that the spray valve is clean and free of any residue.

2. Shaking the product- Shake the can vigorously for 10 to 15 seconds before each use to homogenize the synthetic formula. This step ensures optimal foam quality and consistent performance.

3. Spray test- Perform a test on a clean metal surface away from your work area. Hold the can vertically 15 to 20 centimeters from the surface and spray briefly to check the quality of the foam.

4. Application to the work area- Once satisfied with the test, apply the foam generously to the drill bit or directly to the drilling area. The foam should form a visible white layer that adheres to the surface.

Regular Maintenance

To maximize the lifespan of your Metaflux 70-03 spray:

After each use:

• Turn the can upside down and spray for 2 to 3 seconds to purge the valve and prevent blockage.
• Wipe the spray nozzle with a clean cloth to remove any dried foam residue.
• Replace the protective cap to prevent dust from accumulating on the valve.

Pressure management:

• Always store the can upright at room temperature between 15°C and 25°C
• Avoid extreme temperature variations that can affect internal pressure
• If the pressure drops, check that the can is not exposed to prolonged cold.

Rotation and inspection recommended:

• Check the expiry date and general condition of the can monthly.
• Test the spray quality every 3 months if the product is used infrequently.
• Replace the can if the foam becomes runny or if the spray is uneven.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Cleaning the spray nozzle:

Valve tip- If the nozzle is partially blocked, remove it and soak it in a mild solvent for 5 minutes. Rinse with warm water, dry completely and replace on the can.

Foam residue on tools- Tools and machined parts can be cleaned with an industrial degreaser or a cloth dampened with solvent. Metaflux foam leaves only a minimal protective film that is easily removed.

Work surface- In case of accidental spillage on the workbench or floor, wipe immediately with an absorbent cloth. Use a multi-purpose cleaner if necessary to remove any sticky residue.

Recommended frequency:Clean the nozzle after 5 to 10 uses or as soon as an obstruction is detected.

Precautions for Use

For your safety:

• Flammable product- Never use near open flames, sparks or hot surfaces exceeding 50°C. Strictly observe safety distances in welding environments.
• Adequate ventilation- Use in a well-ventilated area or under a fume hood for prolonged use. Although odorless, fumes can accumulate in confined spaces.
• Skin and eye protection- Although skin-friendly, wear protective eyewear when spraying to avoid eye contact. In case of eye contact, rinse thoroughly with clean water for 15 minutes.
• Secure storageNever pierce, burn, or expose the can to temperatures exceeding 50°C, even after use. Keep out of reach of children. Recycle in accordance with local aerosol regulations.
• Material incompatibility- Do not use on solvent-sensitive plastics, synthetic rubbers or delicate painted surfaces without prior testing on an inconspicuous area.

Storage Tips

Short-term storage (less than 6 months):

• Ideal temperature between 15°C and 25°C in a dry place
• Vertical positioning required with cap in place
• Protected from direct sunlight and heat sources
• Avoid areas with significant temperature variations

Long-term storage (more than 6 months):

• Same conditions as short-term storage
• Monthly check of the bomb's integrity and absence of rust on the metal
• Quarterly spray test to check product quality
• Stock rotation using the first-in, first-out (FIFO) principle

Winter storage in Quebec:

• Never leave in an unheated vehicle or garage during winter.
• Minimum storage temperature of 5°C to preserve pressure and quality
• If accidentally exposed to cold, gradually return to room temperature before use.
• Check for condensation on the can after it has returned to normal temperature.

Expected lifespan:3 years from the date of manufacture under optimal storage conditions. The expiry date is indicated on the bottom of the can.

What Is Covered

The Metaflux and Polar Industrial Equipment limited warranty covers:

Manufacturing defects- Any anomaly in the design of the aerosol can including defective valve, premature pressure leak or failure of the spraying system due to a manufacturing defect.

Formulation defects- Product not meeting advertised specifications including foam that does not form correctly, abnormal separation of components or premature loss of effectiveness before expiry date.

Abnormal performance- Spray not providing the promised cooling effect, insufficient adhesion on metal surfaces or inability to prevent blueing of stainless steel under normal conditions of use.

What Metaflux and Polar Industrial Equipment will do:

• Free replacement of the defective product with a new unit
• Full refund of the purchase price if replacement is impossible
• Coverage of return shipping costs for defective products

Warranty Exclusions

The warranty does NOT cover:

Normal wear and tear- Gradual depletion of the can's contents through repeated use, natural loss of pressure after numerous sprays over a prolonged period, normal evaporation of the propellant.

Physical damage- Pump punctured, dented or damaged by fall or impact, valve bent or broken by improper handling, cap lost resulting in contamination of the valve.

Misuse- Storage at extreme temperatures below 5°C or above 50°C, exposure to flames or intense heat sources, attempt to pierce or modify the can, use after expiry date.

Inadequate storage conditions- Prolonged exposure to humidity causing rust on the can, storage in a horizontal position causing valve obstruction, contamination by incompatible products.

Negligence and modifications- Failure to comply with usage and safety instructions, mixing with other chemicals, use on incompatible materials without prior testing.
