First Use

Before mowing for the first time, follow these steps for a safe and optimal setup.

1. Charge the batteries: Insert the DCB612 batteries into the DCB1104 chargers and wait for the full charge indicator before first use.
2. Assemble the handle: Unfold and lock the telescoping handle in the operating position following the included manual instructions.
3. Insert the safety key: The mower cannot start without the safety key. Keep it accessible to the operator at all times.
4. Set the cut height: Choose from the 6 available settings. A higher cut height is recommended for the first pass to avoid stressing the grass.

Regular Maintenance

Minimal but regular maintenance extends the lifespan of your DeWalt 60V mower.

After each use:

• Remove the safety key before any cleaning or inspection
• Empty and clean the grass bag to prevent mold growth
• Wipe the deck and blades with a dry cloth
• Recharge the batteries if you plan to use the mower soon

Monthly maintenance:

• Inspect blades for wear or damage
• Clean the underside of the deck with a stiff brush to remove compacted grass buildup
• Check that all wheels spin freely

Cleaning and Maintenance

Cleaning the cutting deck:

1. Remove the safety key and disconnect the batteries
2. Tilt the mower onto its side (bag side up)
3. Scrape stuck grass with a wood or plastic scraper — never metal on the deck

• Avoid mowing in heavy rain: Excessive moisture can reduce traction and create slippery conditions.

Storage Tips

Short-term storage:

• Store vertically to save 82% of space in your garage or shed
• Keep batteries charged to 50-80% if unused for more than two weeks
• Store away from direct rain and moisture

Winter storage in Canada:

• Remove batteries before winter storage and keep them indoors between 10°C and 25°C
• Never expose batteries to prolonged freezing — this permanently reduces their capacity
• Clean the deck and blades before winter storage to prevent rust
